What is a Soul Doula?

To answer that question first requires an explanation of what a doula is.  A doula is a trained birth coach who offers continuous emotional and physical support to a birthing woman and her family during labor and delivery.  Armed with a toolbox filled with information about birth, the body, medical interventions and pain management techniques and strategies the doula is a sense of calm in the midst of the unknown; she will go into the depths with you, hold your hand, look deep into your eyes and lend you strength, confidence and conviction when you feel you have nothing left.  At the completion of the birth it is not uncommon for the doula to hear, "Thank you I/we couldn't have done it without you."  The doula will smile, knowing that the she/they could have done it alone, but sometimes it takes that outside presence to encourage you and show you that you can; to lend you their strength and conviction in just how powerful you are.

This, in essence, is also Megan's work as a Soul Doula.  Just as in a physical birth, Megan is armed with a toolbox filled with information, skills and strategies to enhance your "birthing" experience.  This toolbox is ever changing, growing and expanding along with Megan's experience, but at the core are three staples: Yoga, Reiki and Readings.  This is the "Sacred Trinity" Megan used to transform herself from a clinically depressed, hopeless cutter and addict into the powerful, confident, passionate woman she is today.  As a Soul Doula she offers these same tools to you, with the intention of supporting you in whatever you are "birthing."  These tools will make your Transformation more graceful, manageable, even enjoyable, exhilarating and fun!

The only difference when you are working with Megan as a Soul Doula is that you are giving birth to You, your life and your dreams.
